To View Schedules

From the Schedule homepage, choose which schedule you wish to view or sign up for by clicking on the name of that schedule. If you want to view all of the schedules one day at a time, click on the link named "All Schedules". Once the selected schedule comes up, use the navigation links at the top of the page to view other days, weeks, or months. Once you are viewing a schedule and want to change to another schedule, click on the "Select Schedule" link near the bottom of the page (will open in a new window).

To Sign Up For A Shift

  1. While you are viewing the schedule you wish to sign up on (the default is a month view), click on the date you wish to sign up for. This will take you to the signup page. Alternatively, if you are viewing all of the schedules on the same page, then go to the date that you want to sign up for and then click on the name of the schedule.
  2. If there are any shifts signed up for on that day, they will be listed at the top, under "Existing Shifts". Scroll down to where it says "Add New Shift On Schedule".
  3. Under "Date" , the date you clicked on should already be showing. If not, or if you want to sign up for a different date, use the drop-down lists to choose the correct date.
  4. Under "Advocate Name", enter in your first and last name (NOTE: This should be the name that you have on file with CVTC. If your name has changed, please contact CVTC to let them know.)
  5. On the right hand side, under "Select Shift", use the drop-down list to choose Day (7am-7pm) or Night (7pm-7am). Once you have done this, the correct Start and End hours should pop up underneath. If this doesn't occur, please select the correct time from the drop-down lists. If you are only signing up for one schedule, then skip the next step.
  6. If you want to sign up for the same shift on more than one schedule, then in the box next to "Add to Which Schedules?", hold down the <Ctrl> key (on Windows) or the <Option> key (on Macintosh) and left-click on the additional schedules you wish to sign up on for that particular shift, so that they become highlighted. The current schedule will be highlighted by default, so make sure that it stays highlighted.
  7. Click any of the "Add to Schedule" buttons. You're done! The same page will come up again, but notice that your shift is now listed under "Existing Shifts". To view the schedule, click on the "View Schedule" link in the upper left hand corner of the page.

But Wait, There's More!

When signing up for shifts, scroll down the signup page and you'll notice that you have a number of options:

Repeat Information (Optional)
This section allows to signup for more than one shift at a time. It's especially helpful if you want to, for example, sign up for the 7pm-7am (overnite) shift every 1st Thursday each month, or even on consecutive days. Use the dropdown lists to select how often you want to repeat this particular shift. Just be sure that you keep track of them, because you will be responsible for each shift you sign up for. It's always good to go back and look at the schedule to make sure your shifts are where they're supposed to be. Once you have made your selections and entered in your information, click on any of the "Add To Schedule" buttons.
Email Notification (Optional)
You can use this section to send email that will include information about the shift(s) that you are signing up for. You can email yourself, your significant other, or your mother, so she can be proud of how many shifts you are signing up for. If you have a message or comment or question to send to CVTC, you can do it here. This includes if you want to sign up to be a backup on the schedule. Just include the address "cvtc@cvtc-slr.org" (without the quotes) in the "TO:" box. You do not need to email CVTC just to let them know that you signed up on the schedule. They will be notified automatically whenever you sign up on a schedule. Once you have made your selections and entered in your information, click on any of the "Add To Schedule" buttons.
Email Reminders (Optional)
This is a cool little feature that allows you to receive email reminders about upcoming shifts. You can receive up to two separate reminders anytime between 5 minutes and 2 weeks in advance. Then enter in the email address you want the reminders to be sent to. Once you have made your selections and entered in your information, click on any of the "Add To Schedule" buttons.

Be A Backup

If you want to sign up to be a backup, then click on that link and you will be taken to a form that will email your sign-up to CVTC. Alternatively, if you are signing up for a shift on a schedule, you can send a note to CVTC at the same time. On the same page where you fill in your name and shift, scroll down the page to the "Email Notification" section. In the "TO:" box, type in "cvtc@cvtc-slr.org". Then in the comments box, type your message, including which month(s) you would like to be a backup.

Oops!

So you accidentally signed yourself up for the wrong shift or the wrong day or the wrong schedule. For security reasons, only CVTC staff can change or cancel a shift once it has been added to the schedule, so you will need to contact CVTC if there is a change that needs to be made.
