Dear Friend,

For the past 30 years, the Crime Victims Treatment Center (CVTC) of St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals has been a pioneer in creating the most sensitive and comprehensive services to victims of violence in a health care setting.

Here are a few of our "firsts":

  • In 1977, CVTC was the first hospital-based rape crisis program in New York State.
  • In 1984, CVTC was the first rape crisis program to incorporate male advocates to work with survivors of sexual assault and their families.
  • In 1994, CVTC was the first rape crisis program to be certified by the New York State Department of Health and the first rape crisis program to have all volunteer advocates certified as rape crisis counselors.
  • In 1995, CVTC was the first rape crisis program in New York City to provide volunteer advocates to the emergency department for survivors of domestic violence and to implement screening for all adult patients seen in the emergency department.
  • In 1997, CVTC was the first rape crisis program to institute a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner program (SAFE) in a New York City hospital.
  • In 2000, CVTC was the first rape crisis program to implement a multi-pronged comprehensive program for male survivors.

On Thursday, November 29, 2007, CVTC will celebrate its 30th Anniversary with a benefit at the famous OK Harris Works of Art Gallery in SoHo. Our honorary chairs are Linda Fairstein, Esq., the New York Times best-selling author, who was NYC’s first sex crimes prosecutor and the Honorable Christine C. Quinn, Speaker of the NYC City Council.

We will be holding a silent auction and items will be on display throughout the event. Winners will be announced near the end of the evening. If you would like to donate an item for the auction please call (212) 523-4728. To make a financial contribution or to purchase tickets to the event please click on the Paypal button.

On behalf of the staff at the Crime Victims Treatment Center, and all the people we serve, we thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to seeing you at what promises to be a fabulous event.
